I'm just a girl from Indiana trying to find her place in this big ol' world and leave her mark. I like to shake it up a little, let's be honest.

I'm B&E's momma and that, above all, is what I was placed on this Earth for. Trust me - being a mom hasn't come easy to me. In fact, there are some days I want to run away, fast and far, but their smiles, hugs and kisses keep me coming back for more. I want to teach them life takes effort and they are capable of everything and anything they put their minds to. Being a single mom wasn't the plan but sometimes the best laid plans are just plans. Life adjustments are fun, no?

I used to think I had it all together but motherhood rocked my life from top to bottom. I'm learning to let go of the control freak in me, baste in the mess and own the disorganization that is my life while finding my happiness. The path to happiness is often paved with Starbucks, Target runs, pedicures, cooking,  clothes, push-up bras, shoes, bags, sports, home decor, crafting, shopping, friends, girls night out, blogging, award show season, quality times with people I adore, reading, Chicago, Sweet Mandy B's cupcakes, and so much more...

I'm a simple girl - give me people I love, laughter, fun, spontaneity, sunshine, beaches, water, a cocktail and you'll see that it really doesn't take much.  I love hard. I play hard. I cry hard. I feel hard. I'm loyal to a fault and I'm learning that it's not the quantity of friends, it's the quality that matters.

I've learned that life often hands you lemons so you have to either make a lemonade margarita or be prepared to throw the lemons at people, if needed. I'm open to both options.

I work in public relations and love it. I was made for this industry as I started very early on as a party planner, school supply hoarder and someone that's not afraid to pick up the phone to call a stranger.

Music makes my world go round. I love New Kids on the Block. Go ahead, laugh. I do. They bring me back to my youth and I love it. I'm pretty diverse in my music selection but really adore 90s music. Gin Blossums. Green Day. Ace of Base. Sir Mix-a-lot. Vanilla Ice. Beastie Boys. I love country music too with some exceptions but I'm learning that I might even dig that. Don't tell anyone.

I rely heavily on my faith. I wouldn't be who I am without God's grace, mercy and forgiveness. He amazes me everyday through simple things: strength, my kids viewpoints, life lessons, beauty, humor, Bible, good conversation with friends and so much more. I grew up very Baptist and have the wounds and stories to prove it.
